Governor Jorginho Mello embarked on February 17th for Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. For a week, the governor will seek to expand Santa Catarina’s relations with the country in the areas of imports, exports, technology, education and investments. “We are going to show the potential of Santa Catarina, this state of hardworking and enterprising people. We want to be a preferred partner in the most diverse areas. Our agriculture is strong, our industry, civil construction, tourism, in short, everything that is already known in Brazil. We want to export our products, import whatever is of interest to our business community and make Santa Catarina an increasingly better and more competitive state. I have no doubt that they will be enchanted by everything we are going to show”, said governor Jorginho Mello.

Also part of the delegation are the president of the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina (Alesc), deputy Mauro de Nadal, the president of the Federation of Industries of Santa Catarina (Fiesc), Mário Cézar de Aguiar, the mayor of Balneário Camboriú, Fabricio Oliveira, the president of the Santa Catarina Association of Educational Foundations (Acafe), Luciane Ceretta, state deputy Antídio Lunelli in addition to businesspeople.

The secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Government of SC, Juliano Froehner, is part of the delegation and explains that the State’s relationship with the United Arab Emirates already exists in the areas of sports and civil construction, as well as in matters of animal protein. “Santa Catarina recognizes that the Emirates are a strong global partner and not just a regional one, and wants to place itself for that nation as a commercial branch here in Brazil. In fact, a trip like this serves to cultivate and the fruits will certainly be harvested.”

The official delegation from Santa Catarina embarks in the late afternoon of this Saturday, 17th, for São Paulo and in the early hours of the morning it heads to Dubai. Arrival is scheduled for the evening of Sunday, 18th.
